Press Clippings

'melding sounds from the worlds of 60s folk and jangle pop, while Bardo’s voice takes on a wistful Stevie Nicks quality. She effortlessly combines addictive Byrds-esque pop with relatable and thoughtful lyricism.." - Line of Best Fit

The last piece of music you paid for (streaming doesn’t count)

Plantasia - Mort Garson
Total Football - Parquet Courts
Genesis - Wendy & Bonnie

Your favourite place to listen to music

My bedroom in the dark, driving my car and in the kitchen while cooking.

A song which reminds you of your childhood

Se Telefonando -  Mina
Every time we say goodbye by Ella Fitzgerald
I Just Called To Say I Love You by Stevie Wonder
Your Song, Elton John
California, Joni Mitchell

I used to sing all these songs with my mother when I was a child. She used to sing “Every time we say goodbye” as a lullaby. She had an Elton John cassette and we used to sing “Your Song” on the way back home from dance lessons. My dad showed me Joni Mitchell’s album “Blue” and the song California remained stuck in my head because that is the song he sang while coming back after finishing his military service.

Your go-to karaoke song

The only time I’ve been to a karaoke I was 13 and I sang “I Love Rock’N Roll” by Joan Jett.

A song which could change the world if everyone heard it

Daniel Johnson -  True Love Will Find You In The End. It’s the most genuine song I’ve ever heard. It’s so simple but so emotional.

A song you’d rather never hear again

O.M.G. by Usher and will.i.am is the worst song I’ve heard in my life and it makes no sense whatsoever in my head.

A song which reminds you of someone you don’t see anymore
“You Got The Silver” and “Angie”, The Rolling Stones. Dedicated to Luca, an amazing person, friend, and a very talented musician who I was in my first band with, who died a few years ago. The Rolling Stones were his favourite band ever and these two songs remind me of him.

Let’s Get Together, Pam Todd And The Love Exchange
Murder on The Dancefloor, Sophie-Ellis Baxter
Atomic, Blondie

All these songs remind me of my boyfriend and the first months of being together, the happiest time of my life, full of love and new feelings. Beautiful songs we listen to together and songs that we showed to each other.

The soundtrack to your last holiday

I Realized You by Wendy & Bonnie
Today is The Day, Yo La Tengo
1979, Smashing Pumpkins
Soul and Cigarette, Daniele Luppi and Parquet Courts
Friday Morning, Khruangbin

The soundtrack of mine and my boyfriend’s first holiday together in Italy.

A song which makes you cry

Impossible Germany, Wilco

The long solo gets me all the time. It sounds like he is having a conversation with the person he loves after they’ve been apart

A song which makes you laugh

“I Ran” by Flock Of Seagulls. When I used to be in Working Men’s Club, Jake used to put this song on all the time before and after our shows in the van, at a very loud volume, and at the end everyone was pissed off at him and we ended up hating that song. But, to be fair, I personally still love it cause it reminds me of those times with the band.

A song which gives you goosebumps

Everybody’s Gotta Learn Sometimes by Beck
Drunk Drivers/Killer Whales by Car Seat Headrest
Only Over You, Fleetwood Mac
These Days, Nico
Maps, Yeah Yeah Yeahs
The End Of The World, Skeeter Davis

Piangi Roma, Baustelle ft. Valeria Golino
L’Amore è Tutto Qui, Piero Ciampi

A song which makes you feel empowered

Man, I Feel Like a Woman, Shania Twain
Bondage Up Yours, X-Ray Spex
Born To Run, Bruce Springsteen
Chain, Anna Calvi

An artist you regret never having seen live

John Lennon, Harry Nilsson, Scott Walker, Joni Mitchell

An artist you hope to see live soon

Angel Olsen, Julia Jacklin, Joan As Policewoman, Anna Calvi, Jessica Pratt, St Vincent, PJ Harvey, Cate Le Bon, Weyes Blood

A gig you’ll never forget

Elton John, Patti Smith and Brian Wilson, because they are living legends.

An album you know by heart

Pet Sounds, The Beach Boys
Emozioni by Lucio Battisti because I grew up with it, listening to it with my parents and it reminds me of happy and sunny times.

A cover which is better than the original

“What’s Love Got to do With It” Tina Turner
